Foreign Banks Issue Banh Bonds

The Public Debt Management Office has agreed to allow ten international financial institutions to issue baht bonds in 2008. The request from the banks to issue new bonds is being taken as an indication that foreigners have confidence in the Thai baht. The Finance Ministry has allowed foreign financial institutions to issue baht bonds for the past two years.
