Water Polluter Tax

The Finance Ministry has proposed that the new government impose a tax on businesses such as factories, hotels, and shopping malls which discharge polluted water. Proposed fees would vary depending on the size of the company. Large polluters would be charged baht 2,500 to baht 10,000 per ton of Biochemical Oxygen Demand or Total Suspended Solid.
