Pollution Solution  (08/05/2009 04:58:39)
Author: Aloha
Aloha, There is one thing that we here at The Pollution Solution Group would like to explain. A while back with the help of City Hall and the police at Dongtan Police Box, the Pollution Solution Group was able to catch the Farang responsible for destroying our posters for the past 3+ years, he was a German Expat. We told Pattaya People Weekly the story and it was printed in their great paper. For the past 2 years, I have had a friend from Germany named Mr. Juergen. He and his Thai wife Loue, holiday here each year. Last year while on holiday, Juergen not only did Tam Boon with us cleaning the beach, he also donated Baht for the making of posters. He and his wife are here again. He is also doing Tam Boon and again donating for the cause. What we are trying to say is, it is not where you come from that matters, it is not where you're at that matters. It is what you bring with you that matters. We here at The Pollution Solution Group believe that our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become, be we from Germany or United States or where ever has nothing to do with what you end up being. It is best to restore harmony through forgiveness, everyday. We thank the Opinions of the Readers section in your paper for allowing us to clear the air. Remember every litter bit hurts. Health and Happiness to All. KOTO. One of the keepers of the ocean

Hi Koto , Busy week end , must have saved half a dozen baby's from choking on butts , even saw one cigar butt . How did you do . ? Suggest we pool our efforts for more efficiency . How about we organize a beach patrol , with rosters , a nice khaki uniform with shorts , dont think we need the day sticks but whistles and a minor first aid kit would be good. As for a name I was thinking about the foreign beach patrol ( FBP) Would appreciate your thoughts on this . Jack .
Harping On  (27/04/2009 05:26:01)
Author: KOTO
Koto, Keeper of the Ocean! My God, you really could bore someone to death. Get a life and start enjoying yourself! You never stop harping on and you are incredibly boring. If you spent as much time cleaning the beach as you do moaning in various newspapers, the beach would be spotless! Once again I feel the need to post in this forum, due to the self proclaimed 'KOTO'. Sir do you actually have a purpose other than to berate farang smokers? I am a lifelong smoker and have no intention of stopping. Having spent many years in Thailand I would say that the vast majority of Farang smokers do dispose of their 'toxic butts' sensibly. Have you thought about the damage you do to the environment with your tacky looking posters? Where do you find the time to clean the beaches? As you seem to spend a great deal of your time moaning in various Pattaya newspapers. Over and out. The Badger. REPLY FROM KOTO: In regards to the Badger. It is wonderful that you’re a life-long smoker Badger. Nobody wants you to stop or cares. These posters are not for you or other Thai and Farang smokers that think before they flick their toxic butts, that take up to 12 years to decompose, leaving dangers behind for our children, wildlife and waterways. These posters do not hurt the environment, maybe the eyes, not the environment. Again we must clue you in that I'm not a self proclaimed 'KOTO', Which means, One of the Keepers of the Ocean. I was given that name 30+ years ago starting in Hawaii. We are not looking for praise. We are trying to play a part in educating the people that are unaware of what toxic butts, camera batteries, bottle caps, plastic, does to the children, wildlife and waterways. As we have said before, swimming, fishing and hiking are all things we’d rather be doing. But we find that the Voiceless need us more then we need other pleasures. We must admit there are a few of you that don't like what we do, and there are many that assist and love what we here at The Pollution Solution Group represent. We are sorry that we fluff your skirt in doing our Tam Boon. You are right, between installing posters on the request of the beach chair vendors, accepted by City Hall, sending letters to the Editor and setting examples by cleaning beaches, it leaves very little time for us to stop and smell the flowers. By the way Badger, Mahalo for Badgering us again. It reopens the door. It reminds us here at The Pollution Solution Group to realize our job is far from over. There are people the likes of you still out there Badgering people that are doing their best to help our brothers and sisters along with wildlife and waterways. We really don't care who smokes; that is a personal choice. We just ask you please keep your butts to yourself. Mahalo Nui Loa, Thank you very much. Health and Happiness to All, One Random Act of Kindness at a Time. With Aloha The Pollution Solution Group, KOTO, One of the Keepers of the Ocean.
A Good Songkran  (27/04/2009 05:24:41)
Author: .Somsak-Martin - Pattaya by the sea.
I must say that this is around the 20th year that I have enjoyed Songkran in Pattaya by the sea. And this year in particular because it seemed much better organized than in recent years as the police along with the police volunteers blocked off certain roads making the long journey through the streets safe and more enjoyable. The Police completely blocked off Beach road and the Songkran traffic went everywhere else. A great idea actually! The only downside was the number of inconsiderate people throwing iced water that could give one a nasty cold. Thankfully, I did not encounter any ice or suspicious substances being thrown as in previous years. My journey started at Jomtien and end back there after 7 enjoyable hours getting soaked from head to toe in the back of a pickup. I dressed accordingly as I am always a showman, and had my Piggy Mask on with some horns and a nice pair of fashionable pink feet to match, which made the crowds go hysterical with laughter, especially the children, and I was being photographed everywhere. I felt that I did make some folk very happy with my 'get up"! One wonderful thing was that no Songkran reveler went hungry as one could buy food and cold drinks almost everywhere. One could even get one’s tanks of water refilled at a low cost, so that the momentum never let up and one always had water ammunition to fight back. It seemed that Pattaya was bursting to the seams with people enjoying themselves with somewhat less casualties than in previous years! I only used the water gun if someone shot at me first...which was every two minutes! Good fun was had by all, only forgetting that I was in the land of heat and honey and my legs got somewhat sun burnt. At the end of an exhausting day and after a good shower it was back to normality once again.
Getting It Straight  (04/04/2009 10:09:54)
Author: Bob, Pattaya
In a recent issue, writer Tony Crossley seemed quite upset of what he thought I had "inferred" that he is a child molester. There was nothing said or meant in anything I said that I thought Tony is a child molester. Nor do I think Tony is a child molester. On the contrary, what I said had to do with "abstinence" as taught to children, and is necessary part of any sex education program which would teach young children, aged 11, picked as an example, to encourage abstinence with young children and why, the dangers of STD and HIV, unwanted pregnancies, and to learn to protect themselves from paedophiles, whether they are priests or stalkers. This discussion has been going on since 9/27 in a letter from Jack who was the first to bring up Abstinence and Sarah Palin, and then a letter from you on 10/10, when you talked about abstinence, Palin, and was the first writer that wrote about Catholic priests and them being Paedophiles. I was trying to point out that your campaign legalize Prostitution without spelling out which forms of Prostitution you want to legalize, whether it be man/woman, same sex, sex with an animal, and sex with children was wrong and that without spelling it out, you leave all the forms of prostitution on the table. Children need to be educated to protect themselves from unwanted sex and abstinence must be part of any comprehensive program to educate young children. Tony, you have made it quite clear you are against ANY form of teaching "abstinence", so my point was directed to that and not to "infer" or say anything about you being a "Child Molester". When I may have said the "paedophiles" are a problem in Thailand I am also not inferring anything towards you or any other specific person. Then onto you and any connection you have with Jack. You say you made it quite clear to me that there was no connection between you Tony, Jack Tighe, and Tighe Books, and that from what you and Jack have now stated or inferred, you two are not friends or drinking buddies and that your only connection is through Jack reading your book and letters to the editors. Tony, I quoted a factual source about Legal Prostitution in Australia caused illegal prostitution to increase in which you countered "that means the demand outstrips the supply". No, the legalization increased demand in Australia which increased the demand which outstripped the supply which led to "Sex Slavery" in the area of Australia I quoted. But there any many noted experts in this field that say the same, for example: US Dept of State in a "Trafficking in Humans Report" states "Prostitution and related activities-including pimping and patronizing or maintaining brothels-encourage the growth of modern day slavery by providing a facade behind which traffickers for sexual exploitation operate. Where prostitution is tolerated, there is a greater demand for human trafficking victims and nearly always an increase in the number of woman and children trafficked into commercial sex slavery. Few women seek out or chose to be in prostitution, and most are desperate to leave it. A 2003 SCIENTIFIC STUDY in the Journal of Trauma Practice found that 89% of women in prostitution want to escape prostitution but had no other options for survival". But, that is just one more, here is another: Margareta Winberg, Deputy PM of Sweden, stated at the Seminar on the effects of Legalization of Prostitution Activities in Stockholm "I believe that we will never succeed in combating trafficking in women if we do not simultaneously work to abolish prostitution and the sexual exploitation of women and children. Particularly in light of the fact many in prostitution are originally victims of trafficking in woman". Tony, there are many more studies that prove that legalized prostitution leads to human trafficking, conducted by experts in the field. Is prostitution good for the image of Patt

Aloha Pattaya People: I would like to inform you that the German Expat that was destroying my posters also ‘for rent’ and ‘for sale’ signs has been caught. He also has reimbursed Pollution Solution for the expense of what he has been destroying for the past 3+ years. Due to the fact that this 68 year old man has hyper-tension and is in great fear of having a heart attack, I would like to close this matter. If he had been of sound mind and body, I would handle it differently. I would not like to have it on my mind that by publishing his name and pictures, that he might be harassed to the point of him having a heart attack. Two wrongs make nothing right. Forgiveness wins in the end. I would like to express my Mahalo's to the wonderful people that took time out of their lives to assist me in the apprehension of this individual. Many Mahalo's to Khun Ittipol Mayor of Pattaya City, Khun Apichart, Deputy Chief Administrator Pattaya City, His assistant Ann. All the employees at the CCTV Control at City Hall. Rjarn Paul Chong. The Police Department at the Dongtan Beach Police Box that responded within 3 minutes of my call. All of the Beach Chair Vendors, Beach Sellers and others that kept an open eye for this person. Thank you Buddha, Thank you God! Mahalo Pattaya People for putting up with me for all of these years. I do bitch a bunch, but only for a good cause, protecting the voiceless the children, wildlife and natural waterways. Mahalo Nui Loa Gerry T. Rasmus: aka KOTO One of the Keepers of the Ocean.

Recently, AMUSED, wrote about some writers, Tighe...Crossley and others and said they were all the same. Who is the joke on, those who believe amused or those he is talking about? Amused, the truth, how are they the same people? Let everyone know so no one gets taken in a Madoff type scene by this multi personality.
A JERK IN THE NIGHT  (30/03/2009 09:28:47)
Author: pollutionsolutionthailand@yahoo.com
Aloha At last, After a few years of a waste of skin destroying laminated posters and signs, the CCTV cameras on Beach Rd in Jomtien now have this farang’s picture, socks, shoes, shorts, T-shirt, between 50 and 60, over weight. This sicko has no respect for private property. Like a rat in the night he comes out of his hole with a can of black spray paint, looks for anything that has a phone number on it like a condo or house for sale or rent and this jerk then paints out the phone numbers. Some of the signs cost several hundred baht each. Then this slime ball walks down to the beach and paints out every laminated poster that says, "NO BUTTS-NO GARBAGE, GOES TO OCEAN" "KEEP IT CLEAN FOR THE KING" "AND SAFE FOR THE CHILDREN & WILDLIFE". Each laminated poster costs 30 baht plus the time and effort involved in having them made. On the request of all the beach chair vendors, the Pollution Solution Group installs them in their area at no charge, doing Tam Boon. This black heart Expat has cost the Pollution Solution Group, which is accepted by City Hall, many, many thousands of baht and many hours of removal and replacements for years. He has been a slap in the face to Thailand with no respect for His Majesty The King. The Pollution Solution Group would like to thank City Hall, CCTV, Police at Dongtan Beach Police Box, Rjarn Paul Chong, Sky Beach Pattaya. Health and Happiness to All, One random act of kindness at a time. With Aloha Keepers of the Ocean, The Pollution Solution Group.

Editor, J. Chunkito complains of letters from months ago leaving no room for him. He wants to “impress more important subjects”. Fair enough in theory, but what does he throw into the hat for readers? Absolutely nothing! Some use he is! Fact is that a debate in the Pattaya People’s letters pages was this week joined by no less than Pope Benedict. Week after week and with 1000’s of words, we have heard one Silly-Bob vehemently argue that sexual abstinence is taught alongside ‘safe sex’. Showing Silly-Bob to be an in-denial ignoramus, papal Benny says that abstinence means just that and condom-use (safe sex) worsens the HIV/AIDS problem. Do Pattaya’s City Fathers get that? Halt condom sales and tell everyone to abstain. We’ll all listen, honest! The Pope’s stupid statement flies in the face of the great work done by Thailand in general and Khun Mechai Viravadya (Mr. Condom) in particular. Isn’t it ironic that a frock-wearing man can be more dangerous than an army of gun-bearing ones? Jack Tighe.
